AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF P(BLIC WORKS AND SAFETY TO PURCHASE
CERTAIN REAL ESTATE FOR USE BY THE tUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHT AND POWER PLANT
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A SUB -STATION.
WHEREAS, in the operation of the Richmond Power and Light of the City of
Richmond, Indiana it now appears necessary and desirable for the City to establish
a higher capacity interconnection between the transmission line facilities of
Indiana and Michigan Electric Company and the City°s electric utility system,
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the best interest of the City to purchase
the following described real estate in Wayne County, Indiana, to -wits
Land Descriptions
A part of the Southeast quarter of section one (1)9 PIP. Thirteen
(13) north, range one (1) west and bounded as followss
Beginning at a railroad spike in the south line of said section
one (1)9 nine hundred sixty-two and six tenths feet (962.6) west
of a marked stone at the southeast corner of said section one (1)s
thence, along the south line of said section one (1), three hundred
feet (300) to a railroad spike; thence north at a right angle to
said south line two hundred sixteen and five tenths feet (216.5)
to a stake; thence east, parallel to the south line of said section
one (1), three hundred feet (300) to a stake; thence south, parallel
to west line of the tract two hundred sixteen and five tenths feet
(216.5) to the place of beginning. Containing an area of one and
forty-nine hundredths (1.49)9 more or less.
for the purpose of locating a sub -station on such real estate, and
WHEREAS, all of the funds to be expended for the purchase of said real estate
are to be paid from funds derived from the operation of the Richmond Power and
Light and charged against the Cash Operating Fund or the Depreciation Fund, and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Works of the City of Richmond be and they
are hereby authorized to purchase the real estate heretofore described for the
sum of $7,500.00
SECTION 2. That such expenditures be charged against either the Cash Operating
Fund or the Depreciation Fund.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, this day
of ,1967.
