AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
DECOTHS, FITZPATRICI{ & COLE, LLP
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret, ('Borough "), is in need of specialized legal
services with regard to the Washington Avenue Redevelopment Efforts; and
WHEREAS, DeCotiis, Fitzpatrick, & Cole, LLP possess the requisite skill and expertise
to provide such specialized legal services; and
WHEREAS, the Law Director of die Borough of Carteret has recommended the
appointment of DeCotiis, FitzPatrick & Cole, LLP to represent the Borough of Carteret in
various matters at a cost not to exceed $35,000.00; and -
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available
for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret, that DeCotiis, FitzPatrick & Cole, LLP are hereby appointed as special counsel
to represent the Borough of Carteret in the above described matter at a cost not to exceed
$35,000.00 which will be funded by the Special Improvement District Funding
Ordinance; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appointment is made as a professional services
contract pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11- 5(I)(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair and
Open Process as authorized by law.
