Public Notice
The city council of the city of Medina
has adopted Ordinance No. 350 The or-
dinance requires that places which sell
turf fertilizer containing phosphorus also
sell phosphorus -free fertilizer, display it
with at least equal prominence and post
a brochure or sign regarding the city's
regulations on the use of phosphorus
fertilizer. The ordinance also prohibits
the use of turf fertilizer containing phos-
phorus, except on new lawns or on
areas shown to have insufficient phos-
phorus after testing. The portion of the
ordinance regulating the use of phos-
phorus fertilizer will be pre-empted when
a similar state law becomes effective on
January 1, 2004. The full text of Ordi-
nance No. 350 is available for inspection
at Medina city hall during regular busi-
ness hours.
