AN ORDINANCE 70 MMRIZE THE PURCHASE OR CONDEMNATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES LYING
BETWEEN FORT WAYNE AVENUE AND FIFTH STREET, AND MAIN STREET AND NORTH'A STREET IN THE
CITY OF RICHMOND* INDIANA.
WHEREAS, there has been heretofore appropriated monies for the purchase of real estate
upon which to build a new municipal building, and
WHEREAS, certain tracts have been acquired leaving the following described real estate
and the improvements thereon, unpurchesed in the block lying between Fort Wayne Avenue
and Fifth Street, and Main Street and North A Street in the City of Richmond, Indiana,
to -wit:
Rowing Albert
and Rose M.
Part Lot 159 Jeremiah Cox Addition, representing all real estate owned
by Vendor in the block bounded by Fort Wayne Avenue, Main Street, North
5th Street, and North A Street, Richmond, Indiana.
Ridgeway, Robt. A.
Part Lot 159 Jeremiah Cox Addition, representing all real estate owned
by Vendor in the block bounded by Fort Wayne Avenue, Main Street, North
5th Street, and North A Street, Richmond, Indiana.
Brandenburg, William F.
and/or Brandenburg Investment Corp.
Parts of Lots la, 15 and 169 Jeremiah Cox Addition, representing all
real estate owned by Vendor in the block bounded by Fort Wayne Avenue,
Main Street, North 5th Street, and North A Street, Richmond, Indiana.
Sullivan, Jis. Everett
Part Lot 169 Jeremiah Cox Addition, representing all real estate owned
by Vendor in the block bounded by Fort Wayne Avenue, Maim Street, North
5th Street, and North A Street, Richmond, Indiana, and
WHEREAS, it may be possible to purchase some of the described tracts, whereas it may
be necessary to condemn others, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the public interest to acquire such land and each of
such tracts will cost more than $2,000,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
Is hereby authorized to proceed to purchase the tracts heretofore described if they
can be purchased at a reasonable price and if not, then that condemnation proceedings
be initiated to acquire such tracts that cannot be purchased.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval by the Mayor.
