AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY TO
PURCHASE CERTAIN REAL ESTATE FOR USE BY THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC
LIGHT AND POWER PLANT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW OFFICE BUILDING,
WHEREAS, in the operation of the Richmond Power and Light of the
City of Richmond, Indiana, it now appears necessary and desirable
for the City to erect a new office building, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the best interest of the City to
purchase the following described real estate in Wayne County,
Indiana, to -wit:
Tract A - Now in the name of Guy M. Campbell and Edna M.
Campbell, husband and wife.
"Lot Number One Hundred Ten (110) in that part of
the City of Richmond laid out by John Smith. ALSO,
beginning at the northeast corner of said Lot
Number One Hundred Ten (110); thence running South
along the east side of said Lot Number One Hundred
Ten (110) to the southeast corner of said lot to an
alley running East and West; thence East on the
north line of said alley, thirty (30) feet, more or
less, to the west line of a twenty-four (24) foot
alley; thence North along the west line of said
alley to A point East of the place of beginning;
thence West to the nottheast corner of said Lot
Number One Hundred Ten (110), being the place of
beginning."
Tract B - Now in the name of Robert L. Marshall and
Estelle R. Marshall, his wife.
"The south half of Lot #109 in that part of the City
of Richmond laid out by John Smith. Also, a part
of said Lot 109 and bounded as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the southeast corner of said south half
of said lot; thence east parallel with the south
line of said lot to an alley; thence northward
along said alley to a point where the north line of
said half lot if extended would strike said alley;
thence west parallel with the north line of said
half lot to the northeast corner of said half lot;
thence southwardly along the east end of said half
lot to the southeast corner, the place of beginning.
This part last described now being Lot 291 of the
Official Map of the City of Richmond, adjoining said
Lot #109 on the east."
for the purpose of locating thereon such office building, and
WHEREAS, all of the funds to be expended for the purchase of said
real estate are to be paid from funds derived from the operation of
the Richmond Power and Light and charged against the Cash Operating
Fund or the Depreciation Fund,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Works of the City of Richmond be and
they are hereby authorized to purchase the real estate heretofore
described as Tract A for the sum of $35,000.00, and Tract B for the
sum of $17,500.00.
SECTION 2. That such expenditures be charged against either the
Cash Operating Fund or the Depreciation Fund.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, this
day of December, 1967.
