RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE MIDPENINSULA REGIONAL OPEN SPACE
DISTRICT APPROVING THE GRANT AGREEMENT
FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM THE CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME FOR THE BIG
DIPPER RANCH ROAD PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Legislature has established the Fisheries Restoration Grant Program
administered by the California Department of Fish and Game (Department) to award grants to
public agencies, Indian Tribes, and nonprofit organizations to implement restoration activities
that benefit the preservation and recovery of anadromous salmonids; and
WHEREAS, the District operates the Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve including the
Big Dipper Ranch located within an area identified in the Pescadero Creek Watershed plan as a
high priority area for restoration; and
WHEREAS, the District's mission includes the protection and restoration of the natural
environment; and
WHEREAS, grants are awarded under eligibility guidelines adopted by the Department;
and
WHEREAS, procedures established by the Department require the applicant to certify,
through a resolution, execution of the Grant Agreement and approval of its terms and conditions
prior to submission of a request to the Department for disbursement of grant funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the
Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District hereby:
1. Agrees to the terms and conditions of the Grant Agreement; and
2. Has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the funded project; and
3. Authorizes the General Manager, as agent and representative of the Midpeninsula
Regional Open Space District, to execute the Grant Agreement and all documents
necessary to comply with the Department's grant requirements.

District on June 11, 2008 at a Regular Meeting thereof, by the following vote:
