AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT
WITH NAJARIAN ASSOCIATES
VARIOUS PLANNING/ENGINEERING PROJECTS
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized planaing/engineering
services in connection with various projects in the Borough; and
WHEREAS, Najarian Associates, One Industrial Way West, Eatontown, New Jersey
07724, possesses the requisite experience and expertise to provide said services; and
WHEREAS, Najarian Associates, has submitted a proposal to provide said services at a
total cost not to exceed $5,000.00 and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Council have reviewed said proposal; and
WHEREAS, Ore Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available
for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. The proposal from Najarian Associates for planninglengineering services
in regard to various projects in the Borough at a total cost not to exceed
$5,000.00 is hereby approved.
2. This action is approved as an award of a professional services contract
pursuant to N.J.S.A 40AA 1- 5(i)(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair
and Open Process as authorized by law.
3. A copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing
Department and Najarian Associates.

and certified as a true copy of the
original on November 8, 2013.

Dear Mayor Reiman:
T.O.. Najarian Associates, Inc. (Najarian) is pleased to submit this proposal to complete
file reviews at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection ( NJDEP) office
in Trenton to evaluate the environmental condition and, status of remediation for the
above - referenced sites in the Borough of Carteret. The Magruder Color Inc. / Indol Color
Co., Inc. site is located at 34 -48 Lefferts Street, and the SGS Control Services, Inc. site is
located at 20 LaFayette Street.
Based on a cursory review of information in the NJDEP database, both of these sites are
active cases in the NJDEP Site Remediation Program (SRP) and are undergoing
remediation as part of the Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) Program. The
historic data and information gathered during the file review will be summarized in a
letter report for each facility, and the current status of remediation and potential future
Najarian will complete the file reviews and prepare the letter reports summarizing

our ndings.for a sum not to exceed $5,600.00.

PLANNING /ENGINEERING SERVICE IN CONNECTION WITH VARIOUS PROJECTS.
NOT TO EXCEED $5,000.00
According to the terms set forth in the Resolution.
THE BOROUGH does hereby agree to pay the Contractor the sum set forth in the Resolution.
