Gonzalez, Village Manager DATE: October 23, 2020 SUBJECT: Bal Harbour Police Department - FDOT Northeast Community Traffic Safety Program Event The purpose ofthis Letter to Council (LTC) is to share information with you on an upcoming traffic safety event in Bal Harbour Village. The Bal Harbour Police Department, in conjunction with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six, through their NE Community Traffic Safety Team program will conduct a multi -agency traffic safety enforcement and educational detail on Wednesday, October 28th, from 8 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Law Enforcement will focus their efforts on Collins Avenue and 96th Street corridors. The primary objective of this operation will encompass aggressive and distracted driving, red-light and speeding violations, seatbelt usage, move -over law compliance, cyclist/pedestrian safety and general traffic safety. Educational materials will be provided by FDOT to all participating law enforcement personnel to distribute during the operation. The participating agencies thus far are Town of Surfside, Bay Harbor Islands, Sunny Isles Beach, Miami Beach, North Miami, Miami Gardens, Biscayne Park and North Bay Village If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or Chief Flowers at 305.866.5000.
