Weekly Code Enforcement Efforts
The code enforcement unit issued one warning within the gated community this week. The warning was issued to a
construction site after workers were observed working at 6:30 P.M., past the allowable work hours.
A code violation notice was issued to the Bal Harbour Shops this week. Brodson Construction personnel were observed
working on the Bal Harbour Shops escalator project at 7:30 A.M., prior to the allowable work hours.
A code violation was issued to the Quarzo property after a non -conforming sign was observed attached to the property's
fence. The sign was immediately removed by the property management upon receiving the notice.
Bal Harbour officers responded to the Kenilworth regarding a repeat complaint of a dog habitually howling and yelping.
The code officer met with the owner of the dog and issued a violation notice as the owner had received a previous
warning regarding the same issue.

Comments:
The Bal Harbour Police Department received a call from a Bay Harbor Islands resident due to someone hitting golf
balls across the intra-coastal waterway. Contact was made with the Bal Harbour resident who advised that they would
cease the activity after being notified that; unless the golf balls were biodegradable, his actions constituted littering.

Comments:
A concerned citizen contacted the police department reference a male laying on the bus bench. Contact was made
with the male who advised that he was heading north towards Broward County. The individual stated that he was
currently homeless; however, he refused any assistance or shelter. He was cleared of any open arrest warrants
nationwide and allowed to board the bus north.

Comments:
While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour police officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction. When
the officer approached the vehicle, he detected a prominent odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle.
After a brief inquiry regarding the marijuana scent, the driver voluntarily surrendered two partially smoked ijuana
cigarettes and a few miscellaneous drug paraphernalia items. The driver was issued multiple citations, arre t d and
released on a Promise To Appear (PTA) in court at a later date.

Comments:
Bal Harbour police officers received a call from a male indicating he was lost and unsure how to return home. The
officers were able to locate him walking along Collins Avenue and observed that he appeared to be confused or mentally
challenged. As a precaution, Miami Dade Fire Rescue was requested and they medically cleared him. The officers
were able to locate the individual's home address and transported him to the residence, where they were met by his
caregiver.

Comments:
A caretaker contacted the Bal Harbour Police Department regarding a missing elderly female suffering from Alzheimer's
Disease. The Bal Harbour communications dispatcher quickly broadcasted a description of the female, and within
minutes an officer observed her walking.al6ng Collins Avenue. The female did not require medical attention and was
immediately reunited with her caretal,r.
