HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-13-1998 Regular Session . . . 502 MINUTES IDLLSBOROUGH TOWN BOARD October 13, 1998 7:15 PM, Town Barn The Hillsborough Town Board held a regular meeting on October 13, 1998 at 7:00 PM in the Town Barn. Present for the Board Meeting were Mayor Horace H. Johnson, Sr., Commissioners Richard Simpson, Catherine Martin, Frances Dancy, Kenneth Chavious, and Evelyn Lloyd. Staff Present were Town Manager Eric Peterson, and Town Clerk Donna Armbrister. Mayor Horace H. Johnson, Sr., called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. Upon a motion by Commissioner Martin, seconded by Commissioner Dancy, the Board moved to go into Closed Session for the purpose of discussing a personnel issue by a vote of 5-0. The motion was declared passed. By consensus, the Board approved the following: · To give the Town Manager a 2% Cost-of-Living Increase retroactive to July 1, 1998; · To allow the Town Manager to accrue 120 hours of vacation leave per year beginning with the start of the next pay cycle; · To allow the Town Manager to attend unlimited conferences/workshops as he deems appropriate within budgetary constraints; · To allow the Town Manager and the Town Clerk to relocate their offices to the Town Hall Upon a motion by Commissioner Martin, seconded by Commissioner Chavious, the Board moved to award the Town Manager with a 5% merit increase effective the next payroll by a vote of 4-1 with Commissioners Martin, Chavious, Simpson and Dancy voting Aye, and Commissioner Lloyd voting Nay. The motion was declared passed. Upon a motion by Commissioner Simpson, seconded by Commissioner Chavious, the Board moved to adjourn at approximately 8:30 PM by a vote of 5-0.
