AMENDING ORDINANCE No. 08 -05
BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret that the bulk
schedule approved as part of Ordinance 08 -05, which amended adopting Ordinance #06-
02, is replaced with a revised schedule subject to its review and any recommendations by
the Planning Board.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that Beacon Planning is hereby authorized to assist the
Planning Board in it review.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that all Ordinances and/or provisions thereof
inconsistent with the provision of this Ordinance shall be and are hereby repealed as to
the extent of any such inconsistencies
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that if any section, subsection, part, clause or phrase of
this Ordinance shall be declared invalid by judgment of any Court of competent
jurisdiction, the section, subsection, part, clause or phrase shall be deemed to be sever
able from the remainder of this Ordinance.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that this Ordinance shall take effect upon final passage
and publication according to law.

Proposed Amendments to the West Carteret Minue Street Retail Redevelopment Plan:
1) Amend Table 4 in Section 3.5 (Permitted Uses), to add an additional use, to read as
follows:

2) Amend Section 3.5 by adding paragraph C. Specific Use Standards, to read as follows:
C. Specific use standards. The following standards shall apply to the applicable uses
permitted in the West Carteret Minue Street Retail Redevelopment Area Plan:
Hotels shall only be permitted as a full service operation with a minimum of
80 guest rooms. Hotels must provide amenities that shall include, but not be
limited to: a pool; meeting and conference facilities; food service offering at
least one meal per day to guests; daily room cleaning; on -site laundry facilities
for hotel linens; a decorated lobby or guest lounge providing seating,
computer access and printer access; and a fitness center.
2. All guest rooms in a hotel must be accessed from an interior corridor and all
floors within the hotel must be accessible by elevator.
3) Amend Section 3.6 Bulk Standards by adding Table 6 Hotel Bulk Regulations, to read as
follows:

review and approval by the Carteret Borough Council In addition to the Carteret Planning Board.
'Permitted impervious coverage shall be the greater of 50% or the lawfully existing coverage prior to redevelopment.
