)RDINANCE NO. 48 -2017
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE TO BE KNOWN AS
THE SANITARY DISTRICT 2018 SALARY ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-4-7-3 requires the Mayor to fix the compensation of each appointed officer
and employee of the city departments, except police officers and firefighters, prior to
November 1 for the ensuring budget year subject to the approval of Common Council; and
WHEREAS, the compensation fixed herein may not be increased during the budget year for
which it is fixed but may be reduced by the Mayor or Director for each appointive officer
and employee (with the exception of Board Members); except by amendment approve by
Common Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of of Richmond, Indiana that the
following positions be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set forth during the calendar
year beginning January 1, 2018 and ending December 31st, 2018.

In addition to the positions set forth above, the Board of Commissioners of the Richmond Sanitary District
may authorize temporary, part-time or seasonal employees provided that there are funds in the budget. The RSD
Board of Commissioners shall set compensation for these employees within the range from $7.85 to $15.00 per hour.
ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION
In addition to the above salaries (with the exception of Board Members) employees shall be
entitled to the same fringe benefits and additional compensation as set forth within the City of Richmond Personnel
Policy or as stated in negotiatied contracts.
