ORDINANCE NO. 51-2017
A GENERAL ORDINANCE REPEALING
CHAPTER 73 (BICYCLES) OF THE RICHMOND CITY CODE
WHEREAS, On March 7, 1960, the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, passed
Ordinance No. 1781-1960 to create Richmond City Code Chapter 73 (Bicycles); and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Police Department has determined that the need for this Richmond
Code Chapter no longer exists and, after consulting with the Richmond Common Council
Transportation Committee and the Richmond Law Department, is seeking to have this
Code Chapter repealed in its entirety; and
WHEREAS, It is in the best interest of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that Richmond City Code
Chapter 73 (Bicycles) be repealed in its entirety and that said repeal take effect upon
passage of this Ordinance and approval by the Mayor.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that
Richmond City Code Chapter 73 (Bicycles) is repealed with the effective date of the repeal to take effect
upon passage of this Ordinance and approval by the Mayor.
Passed and adopted this day o 2017, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
