The Board meets the 2nd
Wednesday of the month at
4:00 PM at the Senior Center
The Senior Center is still closed to visitors, but the January calendar is filled with
programs via Zoom that we hope will help to lift you up throughout this winter month.
If you prefer not to join us on Zoom, maybe you'd like to receive a call from a member
of our Call and Catch -Up program who can provide a friendly hello, joke of the day, or a
chat about current events. More information about joining the program as a participant
or as a volunteer can be found inside this issue. We will also be offering our annual
program about Tax Exemptions for Seniors with staff from the Assessor's and Treasurer-
Collector's Offices. This important presentation will be held via Zoom on Tuesday,
January 12. The calendar also includes two special music programs, an interactive film
program, and our new Zoom Pet Lovers' group and a Zoom session for our Knitters. We
hope you will join us. Training is available if you've decided that your new year's
resolution is to try Zoom. Call us for details.
A special thanks to the Friends of the Watertown COA for their support of our recent
grab-n-go meal events, and to all of you who participate in our programs or receive
services. We appreciate your cards, notes of thanks, phone calls and suggestions for
how we can improve, or continue to shine. Thank you.
From all of us, Cheers to 2021! We look forward to all that this New Year will bring!

Zoom Book Club
Wednesday, January 13, at 9. 30 am
We will be discussing Where the Crawdads
Sing, by Delia Owens. For years, rumors of
the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley
Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in
late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found
dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-
called Marsh girl, who was left to raise herself in the
coastal marshes when her family abandoned her at a
young age. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and
intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the
marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls
and lessons in the sand. When two young men from
town become intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens
herself to a new life —until the unthinkable happens.
There is so much to her story: romance, mystery, and a
murder... and it takes place in the breathtaking
backdrop of the South.

With Medicare Plans, does it matter
which pharmacy you use?
Medicare YES, the pharmacy you use could
make a big difference in the cost of
your drugs!
All Medicare drug plans and Medicare Advantage plans
(HMOs, PPOs) have network pharmacies. Most
pharmacies accept most plans. However, if you go to a
pharmacy that is not in your plan's network, your drugs
will not be covered, and you will pay full retail price.
For 2021, all the 27 Medicare drug plans have preferred
pharmacies as do several Medicare Advantage plans. You
should check that the pharmacy you currently use is the
best one to use with your plan; plans can change their
preferred pharmacies from year to year. By using a
preferred pharmacy, you may save money!
The SHINE Program remains available for remote
counseling and assistance. Trained SHINE volunteers offer
free, confidential counseling on all aspects of Medicare
and related health insurance programs. To schedule a
SHINE phone appointment, call your local Senior Center.
For other SHINE related matters, call 1-800-243-4636.
Once you get the SHINE answering machine, leave your
name, number and town. A volunteer will call you back,
as soon as possible.
