CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
ORDINANCE NO. 55-2017
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT
FROM THE FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any
documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any
other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive
administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the
legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any
monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Department of Homeland Security has grant funding available through the
Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Fire Department desires to submit a grant application to
obtain funds that will be used to procure replacement SCBA gear (all masks MSA
G1 FCPC, all packs MSA A-GIFS, and peripherals); and
WHEREAS, A ten percent (10%) local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as
follows:
1. The City of Richmond in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10 has or will submit a grant
application to the Federal Department of Homeland Security for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant
Program.
2. The City of Richmond Fire Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an
amount up to Three Hundred Seventy Thousand Six Hundred Thirty-six Dollars and Thirty-six Cents
($370,636.36).
3. The local match of Thirty-seven Thousand Sixty-three Dollars and Zero Cents
($37,063.64) will be supplied by the Fire Department from its 2018 Equipment Budget account.
4. Said grant funding in the total amount of Four Hundred Seven Thousand Seven Hundred
Dollars and Zero Cents ($407,700.00) shall be used to procure replacement SCBA gear (all masks MSA G 1
FCPC, all packs MSA A-GIFS, and peripherals) for the Richmond Fire Department.
Passed and adopted this day of 7, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana. ---�
