HELPSY collects unwanted clothing through clothing drives, recycling bins, home pick-up and thrift store partners. What items does HELPSY accept? We pick up clothing, shoes, accessories, and linens, in any condition. Please make sure that everything is dry and bagged. We cannot accept glass or breakable items, furniture, electronics, books or building supplies. What happens to collected items? Clothing and shoes are sorted on quality and condition. The best 50% of the clothes are resold in secondhand stores while the rest are sent out for industrial use such as stuffing or insulation. Only the 5% that is wet or oil -stained is thrown away. Is HELPSY a nonprofit? HELPSY is a for -profit that partners with nonprofits to help raise millions for charitable programs.
