ORDINANCE NO.23-2018
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF CONTRIBUTION FUNDS
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-7, a municipality may enter into
contracts and, for purposes of the acceptance of funds in accordance with IC 36- l -4-
l0 to the extent any receipt of contribution funds agreed upon are considered a grant,
the municipality may accept said funds, provided that the Common Council of the
City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the
appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, Reid Health has determined that it will make a donation to the City of Richmond,
Indiana in the amount of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents
($500,000.00) toward the former hospital remediation and rehabilitation project,
which project overall includes, but is not limited to demolition, remediation,
redevelopment, market and title viability, and final value determination; and
WHEREAS, It is in the best interest of the City to proceed with the acceptance of said funds
contributed by Reid Health for the use of the funds by the City in connection with the
former hospital remediation and rehabilitation project.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond, Indiana ("City"), is authorized to accept from Reid Health
contribution funds in an amount of up to Five Hundred Thousand Dollars and Zero
Cents ($500,000.00).
2. Said funds, if awarded, shall be appropriated to assist the City in connection with the
former hospital remediation and rehabilitation project, which project overall includes,
but is not limited to, demolition, remediation, redevelopment, market and title viability,
and final value determination.
