HILLS BOROUGH TOWN BOARD
Development Tour
February 27, 1999

The Town Board members met outside the Town Barn at 9:30 AM, Saturday February 27,1999.
They departed with Elam and Hauth in Elam's Chevrolet Suburban for a tour of some planned unit
developments in the Cary area. Evans followed in his personal vehicle. On the way south out of
town, Hauth and Elam indicated the location of the proposed development offered by the Berk Trust
so Board members could keep the location in mind.
Elam drove to and through the following developments in the cary and Morrisville areas describing
ways in which the proposed development would be similar or different from the sites seen. Sites
visited were Lochmere (residential, cary), cressent (mixed use, mostly non-residential, cary),
MacGregor Village (mixed-use, cary/Morrisville), Regency Park (mixed-use, cary/Morrisville),
Carpenter (mixed use, under construction, Morrisville), Preston (mixed-use, cary/Morrisville) and
Weston (non-residential, Cary).
The tour took a brief rest stop at the Preston Comers shopping area to view some development
details at closer range.
The tour returned to Town Hall at approximately 12:40 PM and the meeting was adjourned.
