ORDINANCE 28-2018
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE UNITED STATES
FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any
documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or
any other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City
executive administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of
Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the
appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Federal Aviation Administration has grant funding available through its
Airport Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to assist with the costs
associated with the Rehabilitate Taxiway "A" Design and Wildlife Hazard
Assessment and Management Plan, located at the Richmond Municipal Airport;
and
WHEREAS, A ten percent (10%) match is required for this grant, of which five percent (5%)
will be provided by the Indiana Department of Transportation for the City of
Richmond so long as the City of Richmond provides the remaining five (5%)
match of the funding grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
as follows:
The City of Richmond in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10 has submitted or will
submit a grant application to the Federal Aviation Administration for the 2018
Airport Improvement Program grant for the Rehabilitate Taxiway "A" Design and
Wildlife Hazard Assessment and Management Plan.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up
to One Hundred Forty-three Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty-five Dollars and Zero
Cents ($143,865.00) from the Federal Aviation Administration and to accept Seven
Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($7,992.50) from the
Indiana Department of Transportation.
3. The City of Richmond shall be required to match a maximum of Seven Thousand
Nine Hundred Ninety-two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($7,992.50) for the local match,
so long as the Indiana Department of Transportation pays the amount of Seven
.
Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($7,992.50). The City
of Richmond match shall come from Airport Funds.
4. If the grant is awarded to the City of Richmond, said funds from the United States
Federal Aviation Administration in the amount of up to One Hundred Forty-three
Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty-five Dollars and Zero Cents ($143,865.00), and the
local match from the Indiana Department of Transportation in the amount of up to
Seven Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($7,992.50),
and the local match from the City of Richmond in the amount of up to of Seven
Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($7,992.50) shall be
appropriated for assistance with the costs associated with the Rehabilitate Taxiway
"A" Design and Wildlife Hazard Assessment and Management Plan located at the
Richmond Municipal Airport.
Passe and adopted by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, this t_% day
