GOvuNOR'S COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG ABUSE
FISCAL GRANT CYCLE JULY 2014 -.RUNE 2019
WHEREAS, the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse established the
Municipal Alliances for the Prevention of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse in 1959 to
educate and engage residents, local government and law enforcement officials, schools,
Ta)nprodn ofgnnizatimts, the faith community, parents, youth and other allies in efforts to
prevent alcoholism and drug ab!ae in communities throughout New Jersey; and
WHERI AS, The Boioueb Councit of the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex,
State of Nev; Jersey recognizes that the abuse of alcohol and drugs is a serious problem in
our society amongst persons of all ages; and therefore has an established Municipal
Alliance Committee; and
WHERF,AS, the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret further recognizes that it
is incumbent upon not only public officials but upon the entire community to take action
to prevent such abuses in our eommanity; and
WHEREA5, due' \moor and Council have applied for finding to the Governor s Conn 1 -
on Alcollolism and Done Abuse through the County of Middlesex.
NOW, I FIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the &favor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey hereby recognizes the following:
L The Borough Council does hereby authorize submission of a strategic plan for
the Ca,teuct Municipal Alliance grant for fiscal year July t, 2014 - June 30
2015 in the amount of
DEDR 520,000.00
Cash Millen 55,000.00
In-Kind 515,000.00
2 The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret hereby acknowledges the
terms and conditions for administering the Municipal Alliance grant,
including the administrative compliance and audit requirements.
