A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE PROPOSED FEE INCREASE REVISION TO THE MASTER FEE SCHEDULE IN
RELATION TO AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER 4 -8.9 OF THE LYNWOOD MUNICIPAL
CODE REGARDING SPECIAL PERMIT FOR SALE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY IN A
RESIDENTIAL ZONE
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council promotes protecting the health, safety
and general welfare of citizens working and residing in the City of Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, the Government Finance Officer's Association (GFOA) states: "A
government should adopt policies that identify the manner in which fees and charges
are set and the extent to which they cover the cost of the service provided "; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council finds and determines the necessity to
increase the fee for "Yard Sales ", "Garage Sales" and the like from $5.00 to $10.00; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code §66016, the specific fees to be
charged for services must be adopted by the City Council by resolution for ordinance,
after providing notice and holding a public hearing; and
WHEREAS, on June 19, 2012, the City Council held a duly- noticed public
hearing at the City Council Chambers of Lynwood City Hall, considered all written and
verbal testimony concerning the proposed fee increases described herein and closed
the public hearing.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council approves and adopts the fee increase for
"Yard Sales ", "Garage Sales" and the like from $5.00 to $10.00
Section 2. These fees are effective on immediately upon approval.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19 day of June, 2012.
