Committee Members Present: Terry Edvalson, Forest Stanley, Andrew Testa and Dave Petty Staff Members
Present: Kurt Wolf & Stefanie Bork
Welcome- Meeting was called to order by Dave Petty at 6:12pm.
Public Comment- No public comment
Agenda Review & Updates- None
Introduction of Guests: No guests present
Review Minutes: August minutes were reviewed; Terry Edvalson motioned and seconded by Forrest Stanley
with typo correction
Business:
1. Annual Report to City Council- Kurt updated the committee on the upcoming annual report to council
Sept. 10th the report will be presented to council by Forrest Stanley, past chair and Dave Petty current
chair. Terry Edvalson commented on speaking to the Library Bond bringing to councils' attention and the
continued support of the bond and the effect it will have on the Parks Department. Kurt is interested in
informing the Library board on the Parks and Recreation Departments responsibilities with informational
tour and continue to support the initiative. Parks relocate and library support, future development and
master plan for Riverfront park, additional opportunities IDL state 80 acres and Master Plan update to
be highlighted to council from the report.
2.Recreation Department- Kurt and Stefanie gave an overview on current programming successes and
failures in response to COVID-19.
Movie by the Lake- Stefanie said the second movie night was successful with around 100-125 attendees
for the evening to view "Night at the Museum". Most in attendance were compliant with the requirements
of the event and appreciative for a family friendly event.
Senior Woodbat Tournament- Stefanie reported that 8 teams are currently signed up and no other teams
will be accepted. The event will take place September 11-13. Games will be spread out with 30 minutes for
departure following transitions and sanitization. No BBQ will take place but instead a catered take-out
meal for participants to take with there and or spread out in the fields to enjoy.
Wee Soccer- Soccer will begin next week for ages 4-8 at Gold Glove Park currently 56 registered. Masks
will be required which has led some families to pull from the program. Registration fees will cover the skills
practice and Recreate Responsibly T-shirts.
Upcoming Fall Programs and Events: Stefanie also updated the members on program planning which
include: October Swim Lessons at Cascade Rec transportation with the Rec Bus, Witches on the Water -
paddle board and canoe from Legacy to Rotary, Trunk or Treat Oct. 30th 4-7pm event permit submitted for

2nd street, No School Fun Days (Oct and Nov), , Basketball will not be possible at the McCall School District
Facilities however we hope to offer a skills camp at Elk Creek Celebration Center.
Tara has been in contact with Central District Health and is continuing to discuss the best safety measures
we can take to offer programming to the community. If at any time it is determined an event and or
program cannot be or is not taking place safely it will be discontinued. Currently McCall Parks and
Recreation is sanitizing shared equipment in between each use, decreasing group size and requiring masks
when physical distancing cannot be achieved.
3.Parks Department
Parks Projects: Kurt gave an overview and status on Park Projects:
• Kurt asked the committee if they have any concerns or viewed anything that needs Parks Attention. All
members responded that parks department has done a great job with upkeep and the additional level
of responsibilities with COVID- trash and bathroom sanitization.
• Waterfront Improvement Project — Kurt updated the committee on the phased approach of the project
from North of Legacy to Brown Park. MRA -McCall Urban Renewal Agency funds and grant funds will
be used to accomplish this project. Beginning this fall the City is moving forward with Project One- the
Brown Park Shoreline. MRA funds must be spent by September of 2021, this fall while lake is at low
pool construction should begin Oct 15- November 12. The Bid is currently open to public bid, bid
opening meeting will be September 15tn
