Yard waste includes leaves, grass clippings, weeds, twigs, and brush, no dirt or rocks. Loose brush must be tied into manageable bundles. Branches should be bundled in three foot lengths, no more than three inches in diameter. Do not use plastic bags, place yard waste in paper bags or loosely in a waste container. CHRISTMAS TREES: Public Works will collect & chip trees the month of January. Place at curb on your regular waste collection day. Bare trees only - no lights, no plastic bags. Please make sure trees are not buried under snow or ice! TVs & COMPUTER MONITORS: Call Public Works for a free curbside pickup every Friday. Thursday at noon is the cut-off for each week. You may also drop off these items at the Recycle Center. RECYCLING: Collected every other week. A second recycling container is now available for $90 at the Department of Public Works. WHITE GOODS: Collected every Friday. A $20 sticker is required. Purchase may be made at Public Works. Items include: air conditioners, washers, dryers, stoves, hot water heaters, dehumidifiers, microwaves, refrigerators and freezers. bWATERTOWN PUBLIC WORKS �I 124 Orchard Street tertown Watertown, MA 02472 �� II TOWN OF WATERTOWN 2019 RESIDENTIAL TRASH & RECYCLE COLLECTION The recycle center hours of operation are Friday and Saturday 9:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. all year round. LOCATION: 76 Stanley Avenue, off Waltham Street. Accessible from Green River Way. ELECTRONICS AND HARD PLASTIC (TYKE TOYS, KIDDIE POOLS, OUTDOOR RESIN FURNITURE) ARE NOW COLLECTED AT THE RECYCLE CENTER. MERCURY & FLUORESCENT BULBS ARE COLLECTED AT THE RECYCLE CENTER AND DPW, Please call Watertown Health Department at 617.972.6446 for hazardous waste disposal. Plastic bags/ aluminum foil return to retail store Food/liquid empty all containers Clothing/ linens use donation programs • All containers must be out by 7:00 A.M. • Place containers at the opening of your driveway for pickup, avoiding parked cars. • 2 pieces of household burnable furniture can be put out for collection on your trash day. • No miscellaneous pieces of wood. • No construction debris will be collected! No carpets. • All recycling and waste must be in the container! Any overflow must be disposed of privately. • Bag your trash prior to placing it in the black container with the lids completely closed. • Do not bag your recycling.
