Please note that this schedule is subject to change based on weather, availability of asphalt trucks,
production, etc. It is possible for the work to be ahead of or behind schedule. Please plan accordingly.
'No Parking' signs will be posted along the area selected for road work. Please do not park your car in
the posted area. Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced during this phase of the work. The
Watertown Police will be informed of the construction and its effects. Typical hours of construction work
are from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Our contractor will begin then installation of granite curbing, concrete sidewalks and concrete driveway
aprons starting Wednesday, May 12, 2021, starting on Goldie Street and Elmwood Ave.
• Granite curbing at driveways will be laid out and installed in accordance with zoning requirements.
Properties requiring driveway opening modifications have previously received letters from the Zoning
Enforcement Office noting the deficiencies and proposed remedies. DPW will not make
modifications to driveway openings unless approved by the Zoning Enforcement Agent.
• Please do not park your car next to any areas marked in front of your residence during construction.
• You will be notified by the Contractor prior to any work that affects access to your driveway.
Driveways may remain closed up to three days to permit the concrete to cure.
• Please note that there may be lapses in time between curbing installation, sidewalk excavation,
installing wood sidewalk forms, and final concrete work.
• Adjustments necessary to make sidewalks and driveways ADA compliant may require minor
regrading of areas beyond the back of sidewalk, such as landscaping, driveways, or walkways. The
Department will match existing materials and finishes to the maximum extent possible.
