ORDINANCE NO. 7-2019 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF GRANTS FROM VARIOUS SOURCES WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and WHEREAS, The City of Richmond through its Parks Department administration ("Parks Department") is aware of numerous grant application opportunities available during the 2019 calendar year from various sources where the respective grant programs (a) do not require local fund matches out of the City's budget; or (b) only require matches that are labor "in kind" matches; and WHEREAS, The Parks Department wishes to apply for said grants in order to take advantage of each respective grant opportunity and meet any recurring deadlines in a timely manner. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that in accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-4-6-18, the Common Council approves the appropriation of any monies received during the 2019 calendar year from the following grant sources in the event the Parks Department applies for said funds in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10 and where said grant programs (a) do not require any local matches; or (b) only require matches that are labor "in -kind" matches: Ackerman Foundation Aetna Foundation Aim High American Academy of Dermatology Association for Butterflies Austin Memorial Foundation Baseball Tomorrow Fund Ben and Jerry Foundation Bridgestone/Firestone Trust Fund Cincinnati Reds Community Fund Coco Cola Bottling Company Color Box/Georgia Pacific Community Urban Forestry CVS Community Relations Grant Department of Natural Resources Dicks Sporting Goods Page 1 of 3 Dr. Pepper/Snapple Keep America Beautiful Duke Energy Dunhams Efroymson Family Fund Eli Lilly & Company Foundation, Inc.
