HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd 328 Parking Prohibited (First Published in the \1\ on the ill day of 7S( 1\ L\ THE CITY OF BEL AIRE, KANSAS ORDINANCE NO. 328 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING STREET PARKING BY PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON CERTAIN ROADWAYS WITHIN THE CITY OF BEL AIRE, KANSAS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 263. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BEL AIRE, KANSAS: Section 1. Parking Prohibited The Governing Body having determined it in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Bel Aire, Kansas that vehicle parking be prohibited on both sides of the fire access roadway providing access from Sunrise Boulevard to the southeast comer of the parking lot of the Bel Aire Recreation Center located at 5251 E. 48th Street North, Bel Aire, Kansas, said parking is hereby prohibited. The Governing Body having further determined it in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Bel Aire, Kansas that vehicle parking be prohibited on the North side of Sunrise Boulevard daily, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., said parking is hereby prohibited. Section 2. Definitions 'Vehicle" as used in this ordinance shall mean every device in, upon, or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a roadway. "Parking" shall mean the standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, otherwise than temporarily for the purpose of and actually engaged in loading and unloading passengers or property. Section 3. Penaltv Upon the posting of signs prohibiting parking as provided herein, any owner or operator of a vehicle parked in violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon being found guilty of violating the provisions of this ordinance, be subject to a fine of not more than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) plus court costs and administrative fees. Section 4. Repeal Ordinance number 263 is hereby repealed. Section 5. Effective Date This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in the official city newspaper.
