RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING INTER-LOCAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX TO
PROVIDE EMERGENCY HAZMAT RESPONSE SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") may from time to time
require emergency assistance in connection with hazardous material incidents; and
WHEREAS, the County of Middlesex (the "County") has established a special
emergency unit (the "Hazmat Unit") to assist communities in the event of such an
occurrence; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Council of the Borough of Carteret has determined that
it is in the best interest of the community to enter into an Interdocal Agreement with
the County to utilize the Hazmat Unit when and if needed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Mayor
and Council of the Borough of Carteret that the attached Inter-local Agreement is
hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Borough Clerk are authorized
to execute said agreement on behalf of the Borough.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Inter-local Agreement is done without
competitive bidding and is authorized pursuant to N.J.S.A40:8A-1, et seq.

and certified as a true copy of the
original on January 22, 1999.
