AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND EMPOWERING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND
SAFETY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, TO PURCHASE CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY
FOR AND ON BEHALF..OF.THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA.
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety of Richmond, Indiana,
deems it necessary to purchase certain personal property, to -wit:
One new 85 foot aerial ladder fire truck
to be used by the Fire Department of the City of Richmond,Indiana; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety of Richmond, Indiana
advertised for and received sealed bids on the purchase of such a 65
foot aerial ladder fire truck, as required by law; and
WHEREAS, after due study and tabulation of said bids, the Board of
Public Works and Safety has determined that the cost of such 85 foot
aerial ladder fire truck will exceed the sum of $.2,000.00, the lowest
bid submitted for the same to said Board being in the sum of $49,114.50;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond,_Indiana:
Section 1. That the Board of Public Works and Safety of Richmond,
Indiana, be, and it is hereby authorized and empowered to purchase
for and on behalf of said City of Richmond, Indiana, the fbllowing--des-
cribed personal property, to -wit:
One new 85 foot aerial ladder fire truck
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval by the Mayor of the City of Richmond,
Indiana.
