PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS: The Watertown Free Public Library was first dedicated in
1869; and,
WHEREAS: The Library was renovated and expanded through grant
funds, town funds and donations in 2006; and,
WHEREAS: August 6, 2016 marks the tenth anniversary of the
renovation and expansion of the library; and,
WHEREAS: Approximately 420,000 people visit the library on an
annual basis; and,
WHEREAS: Approximately 620,000 items are borrowed from the
library on an annual basis;
NOW THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED: That the Town Council of the
City known as the Town of Watertown is proud to recognize the 10th
ANNIVERSARY OF THE WATERTOWN FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY’S
RENOVATION AND ADDITION and congratulate the Library Trustees
and Staff on the quality of library service and facilities offered to the
citizens of Watertown.
