The Common Street project is scheduled to begin this season's construction on Common Street on Monday,
April 8t''.
Initial work is anticipated to consist of drainage and water system improvements and be focused on Katherine
Road and the upper portion of Common Street (from Columbia Street to Orchard Street). Additional initial work
includes traffic signal conduit installation at Spring Street. Work may proceed within any portion of the project
area. We will provide updates as the various phases of work begin.
• Typical work hours will be 7 AM to 4 PM.
• Expect detours, road closures, and delays in the work area, with local access to residents only.
• You will be notified by the Contractor prior to any work that affects access to your driveway. Driveways
may remain closed up to three days to permit the concrete to cure.
• Please note that there may be lapses in time between drainage installation, road repaving, curbing
installation, sidewalk excavation, etc. due to different crews performing different phases of work.
• The Watertown Police will be informed of the construction and its effects, including the need for extended
on -street parking due to driveway repairs.
We understand that the process is noisy, messy and disruptive and apologize in advance for any
inconvenience you may experience. We know you will enjoy the improved appearance and condition of
Common Street for many years in the future.
