A RESOLUTION APPROVING HIRING A CONSULTANT GRANT WRITER FOR
SPECIFIC PROJECTS NOT TO EXCEED $5,000
Whereas, The City recognizes that there is a yearly deadline to apply for a RISE grant
to get assistance with turn lanes to be added to Highway 6 and Jasper /Park Avenue
and;
Whereas the City Council of the City of Tiffin recognizes that the school bond was
approved and they expect to move into the new school facility in the fall of 2015 and
that moves up the necessity of getting the RISE grant completed in this calendar year;
Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa to approve
hiring a Consultant Grant Writer, Chris Ward, for the amount of $50.00 per hour not to
exceed a total of $5,000. Additionally, if he finishes the RISE grant and there are funds
remaining of the $5,000 — if time allows, the City can utilize him to apply for other grant
opportunities to assist the City of Tiffin.
On the 26th day of February, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa,
Councilperson Bartels introduced Resolution No. 2014 -020, A RESOLUTION
APPROVING HIRING CONSULTANT GRANT WRITER FOR SPECIFIC PROJECTS
NOT TO EXCEED $5,000 and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by
Councilperson Petersen.
Ayes: Kahler, Ryan, Petersen, Bartels, Upton
Nays: none.
Absent: none.
Whereupon five Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner
declared that the Resolution No. 2014 -020, A RESOLUTION APPROVING HIRING
CONSULTANT GRANT WRITER FOR SPECIFIC PROJECT NOT TO EXCEED
$5,000 to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature
thereto.
Passed by the City Council on the 26th day of February, 2014.
