City of McCall Monday, October 26, 2020 — 5:30 p.m.

COMMITTEE MEETING — Began at 5:30 p.m.
• CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Committee members Claire Remsberg (via
video), Susan Farber (via video), Karla Eitel, Craig Vroom (via video), Dawn Matus
(via video) and Dallas Young (via video) were present. Also, in attendance were
Delta James, Economic Development Planner, Bill Flood, Consultant (via video), and
Amy Westover, artist (via video).
• MINUTES APPROVAL
• September 28, 2020 [ACTION ITEM] Susan moved, Dawn seconded, a
motion to approve the minutes without revision. All members voted "aye"and
the motion passed.
• PUBLIC ART PROJECTS
• Downtown 2`" Street design options: Staff reported that Erica and Jamie
Laidlaw have provided three design options and that they are online for public
input. The artists will bring results of the public input and the designs for
committee consideration at the next meeting. Members of the Artwork
Selection Committee will also be invited to the next meeting to review the
design ideas and to help select a preferred option to recommend to City
Council for approval.
• Urban Renewal Area project: Amy Westover, project artist, provided a
summary of her project research to date, which has included an on-site tour
of the urban renewal district with city parks staff and historical research with
members of the Historic Preservation Commission. Amy is looking at the area
between Legacy and Brown Parks for her project and will likely focus on
some aspect of the rich lumber mill history in that area. She has also been
doing community outreach to help inform an area public art siting opportunity
report that is part of her scope of work.
• MCCALL PUBLIC ART PLAN
• Bill Flood, consultant, presented the draft vision statement, vision elements
and goals to the committee. Committee members suggested a number of
changes to the plan format and content. The consultant will incorporate those
changes and bring another draft back for consideration at the next meeting.
• NEXT MEETING
• Monday, November 30, 2020 at 4:30 pm. November's meeting will start one
hour earlier than usual to allow more time for draft public art plan review.
• ADJOURNM NT The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
