COMMITTEE MEETING - Began at 4:30 p.m.
• CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Committee members Claire Remsberg (via
video), Susan Farber (via video), Karla Eitel, Craig Vroom (via video), Dawn Matus
(via video) and Dallas Young (via video) were present. Also, in attendance were
Delta James, Economic Development Planner, Bill Flood, Consultant (via video),
Thea Belecz, and artists Erica and Jamie Laidlaw (via video).
• PUBLIC ART PROJECTS
• Downtown 2' Street design options: Artists Erica and Jamie Laidlaw
presented three design options for possible installation in downtown. These
designs include: "Our Confluence," a 16 ft. steel and concrete bench
representing the confluence of the Main and South Fork Salmon Rivers,-
"Matter of Scale," a series of concrete stools that resemble fish scales; and
"Balanced Alpine," two steel and concrete benches that reference mountain
lakes. The committee discussed the benefits of all three proposals.
Claire moved, Dallas seconded, a motion to recommend "Our Confluence"to City
Council for fabrication and installation on 2"d Street. All members voted "aye"and
the motion passed.
• MCCALL PUBLIC ART PLAN
• Bill Flood, consultant, presented the draft public art plan, including vision,
vision elements, objectives and actions. The committee reviewed these
aspects and then were asked to name their top three site or project
opportunities. The responses were as follows:

• COMMITTEE MEMBER APPOINTMENT
• Claire Remsberg has completed two full terms on the committee and,
therefore as stated in the committee bylaws, is not eligible for another
consecutive term. This has created one vacancy on the committee. Cynthia
Dittmer, MDHS art teacher, has submitted a letter of interest to be considered
for appointment to the committee. Cynthia was a founding member of the
committee and served two terms previously but has taken a hiatus for the last
few years and, therefore, is eligible to serve again.
Karla moved, Craig seconded, a motion to recommend Cynthia Dittmer to City
Council for appointment to the committee. All members voted "aye"and the
motion passed.
• NEXT MEETING
• Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 8:00 am—joint meeting with McCall Urban
Renewal to review Amy Westover project design ideas
• Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 5:30 pm —joint meeting with McCall City
Council for public art plan update, Laidlaw project approval and committee
appointment.
No regular committee meeting in December**'
• Monday, January 25, 2021 at 5:30 pm — next regular committee meeting.
• ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 6:37 p.m.
