HomeMy Public PortalAbout2015-19 Authorizing the Manager to prepare construction documents for the South and North Mashta Drive traffic calming improvemeRESOLUTION NO. 2015-19 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO PREPARE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND ISSUE A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE SOUTH AND NORTH MASHTA DRIVE TRAFFIC CALMING IMPROVEMENTS; 'PROVIDING FOR IMPLEMENTATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village recently received a petition signed by more than 50% of the residents living along South and North Mashta Drive requesting the installation of traffic calming improvements on these roadways; and WHEREAS, the Village's engineering consultant has reviewed the petitioners' request and recommends that traffic calming devices be installed on these roadways; and WHEREAS, the Village Council desires to authorize the Village Manager to prepare the necessary construction documents and issue a Request for Proposal for the construction of the improvements; and WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that the adoption of this Resolution is in the best interest and welfare of the residents of the Village. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Recitals Adopted. That each of the recitals stated above is hereby adopted and confirmed. Section 2., Authorization. That the Village Manager is authorized to: (1) prepare the necessary construction documents for the South and North Mashta Drive traffic calming improvements; and (2) issue a Request for Proposal for the construction of the improvements. Section 3. implementation. That the Village Manager is authorized to take any necessary action to implement the purposes of this Resolution. Section 4, Effective Date. That this Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption hereof. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of May , 2015. ATT T: ITA H.
