IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM THE
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
Essex Street, Nash Street, Pine Street
Dear Residents and abutters:
Laboratory testing for water quality of the temporary water system piping has been completed.
The Department is now approving activation of the temporary water line.
Please be advised that Commonwealth Construction and Utilities, Inc. will be on site beginning
Monday, July 27 to connect each building water service to the temporary bypass system. This
will utilize a hose connection to the hose bib on the outside of each structure.
In order to make these connections, the contractor will need access to your basement. All of the
contractor's personnel will be in full compliance with the State of Massachusetts Department of
Public Health's COVID-19 guidelines with respect to social distancing and personal protective
equipment.
This work will take place during the contractor's working hours of 7:00 AM — 5:00 PM. If you will
not be home during this time on any of the days listed, please call the contractor's number
below to schedule a time outside of these hours.
