HomeMy Public PortalAbout2015-21 Selecting Green Source Landscape and Sport Turf for the resurfacing of the Village Green Athletic FieldsRESOLUTION NO. 2015-21 A CAPITAL PROJECT AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, SELECTING GREEN SOURCE LANDSCAPE AND SPORT TURF, INC. FOR THE RESURFACING OF THE VILLAGE GREEN ATHLETIC FIELDS; AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT RELATED TO THE SAME; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village Council has budgeted for the resurfacing of the Village Green athletic fields (the "Improvements"); and WHEREAS, the Village Manager has recently sought proposals from qualified companies for the Improvements; and WHEREAS, after careful review of the proposals submitted, the Village Manager recommends Green Source Landscape & Sports Turf, inc. (the "Contractor") for the Improvements; and - WHEREAS, the Village Council selects Green Source Landscape & Sports Turf, Inc. for the Improvements, and authorizes the Village Manager to negotiate and execute an agreement consistent with the proposal attached as Exhibit "A;" and WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that this Resolution is in the best interest and welfare of the residents of the Village. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Recitals Adopted. Each of the above stated recitals are hereby adopted, confirmed and incorporated herein. Section 2. Contractor Selected. The Village Council hereby selects Green Source Landscape & Sports Turf, Inc. for the Improvements. Section 3. Village Manager Authorized. The Village Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute an agreement, consistent with the proposal attached hereto as Exhibit "A," with Green Source Landscape & Sports Turf, Inc. for the Improvements, subject to approval as to form, content, and legal sufficiency by the Village Attorney. Chileuet versus Greensource Landscape and Sports Turf, Inc.: Plaintiff is claiming to have sustained an injury on the soccer field at Regional Park due to a hole in the field however the claim was not made until 6 months until after claimed incident. It was settled before going to court and was handled by the liability insurance company used by Greensource. ��t��eebiSoume Maintenance & Warranty: " We guarantee to provide certified, weed free, celebration bermudagrass that is green upon delivery and installation. " We will provide a recommended watering schedule and will provide wet checks upon completion of the project to assure adequate irrigation coverage. " Mowing will begin two weeks post sod installation on a minimum once -a -week frequency up to eight weeks post job completion. " A controlled release granular fertilizer application will be done within two weeks post sod installation. " A liquid micronutrient fertility application will be done within the first 8 weeks post project completion.
