SUBSTANDARD WATER SERVICE REPLACEMENTS
Frank Street & Louise Street
Dear Residents and Abutters of Frank Street and Louise Street:
The Watertown Department of Public Works and our contractor, Commonwealth
Construction, would like to inform you that we will be replacing only sub -standard
(cement lined and/or cast iron, or undersized copper) water services. This work is in
preparation for road reconstruction later this year.
Replacements and upgrades will include only the water service pipe from the town water
main to the curb stop (in the sidewalk area). The work for each home will require
approximately 3-6 hours to complete.
Weather permittin_q, work will begin on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.
Based on our records, work is anticipated at the following house services:
#6, #10-132, #16, #17, #22, #25, #30-32, #39, #42 and #45 Frank Street
#24-26 Louise Street
#244 North Beacon Street (service off Louise Street)
If your address is not listed, then our records indicate your water service is standard 1-
inch copper and does not require replacement.
The Watertown Police will be informed of the construction and its effects. Typical hours
of construction work are from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
We understand that the process is noisy, messy and disruptive and apologize in advance
for inconvenience you may experience.
