HOSMER SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL PROJECT
PREPARATION FOR FINAL PAVING
BOYLSTON STREET, FROM FAIRFIELD ST. TO CHAUNCEY ST. INCLUDING
INTERSECTIONS; CHAUNCEY STREET
Due to weather conditions, the schedule of work by J. Tropeano, Inc. has been modified. The
preparation work for final paving at the Hosmer Safe Routes to School is now scheduled for next week.
Please be advised that due to the nature of the work, final paving is always weather dependent.
• Raising castings is scheduled on Wednesday, May 8.
• Pavement milling of transition areas at the work limits on Chauncey Street and Boylston Street at
each intersecting street including School Street on Thursday, May 9. Expect parking restrictions
and road closures during this phase of the work, however the work will be phased so as not to impact
school pick-up/drop-off.
• Final paving is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, WEATHER PERMITTING. You will be notified
again prior to this work.
• Final loaming and seeding, tree planting, and landscaping will proceed after final pavement to
complete the project, as will crosswalk and line painting.
• The Watertown Police will be informed of the construction and its effects, including the need for
extended on -street parking due to driveway repairs. They will be present to assist residents through
the work zone.
We appreciate your cooperation as weather conditions have delayed this portion of the work. We know
you will enjoy the improved appearance and condition of your roadway for many years in the future.
