WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT
AFFECTED AREAS: HUNT STREET, MAPLE STREET AT GALEN STREET,
PHILLIPS STREET
June 3, 2019
Dear Residents and Abutters of Hunt Street, Maple Street, Galen Street, and Phillips Street:
The Watertown Department of Public Works, through its contractor, C. Naughton Corporation, will
be completing the installation of permanent pavement for the water utility trenches as part of the
ongoing Water Main construction work on Phillips Street, Hunt Street, and on Galen Street at the
intersection of Maple Street, WEATHER PERMITTING, beginning Tuesday, June 0, 2019.
During the course of this work, you may experience inconveniences to vehicular travel and parking.
On -street parking will not be allowed near the work area during this period; however, access to
driveways will be maintained at all times. Roads around the work area will be closed to through
traffic.
The expected work hours on Hunt Street are from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Vehicles parked on the
roadway not removed from the street by 7:00 am, will be towed, per order of the Department of
Public Works. The Watertown Police will be informed of the construction and its effects.
Lastly, please be aware that you may experience water discoloration during the construction
activities as hydrants in the area may be utilized by the Contractor.
We understand that the process is noisy, messy and disruptive and apologize in advance for the
inconvenience you may experience.
