RESOLUTION 21-11
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MCCALL, IDAHO, ADOPTING THE CITY OF MCCALL
PUBLIC ART PLAN, PROVIDING FOR RELATED MATTERS, AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the McCall Area Comprehensive Plan (2018) includes a goal to "Celebrate the culture
of McCall and creativity of residents through public art"; and
WHEREAS, the City of McCall's Public Art Advisory Committee requested that a plan to guide the
future development of McCall's public art collection and program be developed; and
WHEREAS, at its May 21, 2020 meeting, McCall City Council approved a Consulting Services
Agreement with cultural planer Bill Flood for public art planning services; and
WHEREAS, the consultant engaged in a multi-faceted community outreach campaign to gather
public input into the plan vision, goals, action items and priority sites for public art development; and
WHEREAS, at its December 17, 2020 meeting, a work session was held with City Council to review
the public outreach results and draft plan vision, goals, actions and future public art sites; and
WHEREAS, at its February 22, 2021 meeting, the McCall Public Art Advisory Committee
unanimously recommended the final City of McCall Public Art Plan(Exhibit A) to City Council for
adoption; and
WHEREAS, the final City of McCall Public Art Plan was presented to Council on March 11, 2021.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and City Council of the City of McCall,
Valley County, Idaho that:
Section 1: The City of McCall Public Art Plan is adopted, and a copy of the Plan is attached hereto
as Exhibit A, and by this reference incorporated herein.
Section 2: This resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the McCall City Council of the City of McCall, Idaho, on March 11,
2021.

With its stunning mountains and lakes,McCall is home to about 3,500 '' a
full-time residents, and robust tourism helps drive its economy. a
Crafting a vision for the City's Public Art Program requires an

approach that both addresses and respects the character and values
of the local community and has the potential to enhance McCall's
future growth. Using core findings from the primary research
question,"How can public art address challenges facing McCall?,"this
master plan provides a guide for integrating public art into McCall's McCall's Public Art
community-building and economic development efforts.

FUNDING OPTIONS FOR THE MCCALL
PUBLIC ART PROGRAM
Below is a list of municipal funding options gleaned by reviewing 1% to 1.25%to support additional public art projects. The City of
public art programs in the Idaho communities of Moscow, Coeur Boise has a 1.4% percent-for-art ordinance on eligible municipal
