CHAPTER 55: UTILITY CONSTRUCTION IN FLOOD HAZARD AREAS SECTION 55.01 Standards for Certain Utility Construction or Reconstruction in Flood 55.01 STANDARDS FOR CERTAIN UTILITY CONSTRUCTION
OR RECONSTRUCTION IN FLOOD HAZARD AREAS All new or replacement water mains, valves and other appurtenances, and all new or replacement sewers, manholes, and other appurtenances constructed
or reconstructed in a flood hazard area as defined elsewhere by ordinance shall be designed and constructed as to minimize or eliminate infiltration of floodwaters into these systems
and discharges from these systems into floodwaters. Onsite waste disposal systems, if provided, shall be so located as to avoid impairment of them or contamination from them during the
occurrence of the regulatory flood. (Ord. 26-1982) 1/27/95
