Approval of Minutes
Michael Flowers made a motion to approve the minutes from the February 11th meeting. John McCreery seconded, and the motion was passed unanimously.
Old Business
Mr. McCreery said that he will combing the accomplishments letter for both 2017 and 2018 and get it written.
Philip Krauss said that he has an idea for the location of the Big Tent 2019 meeting, and the Commission discussed what they would like to get out of the event. Networking time for the
visitors was discussed, as well as keynote speakers. The Commission was not sure if they would like to see local speakers or invite the public to participate. A major focus of the meeting
that everybody wanted to see was funding opportunities for historic preservation activities. Mr. Flowers felt that either May, June, or July would be ideal to host the meeting while
not conflicting with other events. The Big Tent planning will be added to the New Business section on the next agenda.
There were no updates on the Reid Memorial Church, and Mr. McCreery mentioned that Beth Fields is the point of contact for the City of Richmond as the project moves along.
New Business
Mr. Flowers mentioned the ordinance approval for the downtown historic district that will mirror the boundaries of the National Historic Register area.
The Commission requested that Mr. Evans check with the Mayor’s Office about the appointment status.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:23 p.m.
