Members Roll Call: Eric McCormick, Allan Morrison, Suzanne Gebhards,
Michael Hayes, Todd McKenna, Kristin Christensen, Ken Stearns were
present. Kara Jeffus was a guest.
Minutes: Approved by Michael Hayes and seconded by Suzanne
Gebhards
Eric's Report: There are 3 full time employees and two part time doing
seasonal snow events and 1 part time helping with inventory and office
work. There seems to be little ice damage on the greens. Clubhouse
exhaust fans were replaced in the bathrooms and locker room.
Banyons has been doing fairly well considering the circumstances with
their outside firepit being a big success. The cart paths a well as tubing
hill have been popular. Erin's signs on the walking paths have helped
some with dog excrement. Eric would like to have Code Enforcement
to write a few tickets to discourage people from not cleaning up after
their dogs. 614 pounds of poop were picked up in January with a total
for the season of 1369. With the help of Rita and Kristin a spread sheet
has been developed to track projects and will be discussed at the
monthly meetings. A 2-week public comment period is required when
golf rates are increased more than 3%, which has now been done so
the new rate structure is on the Council agenda for Feb 25th meeting.
Jug Mountain is considering a 5% rate increase for next season. The
new entrance sign is currently being made by Rocky Mountain Signs
and will be installed in the spring. Two more cameras and a speaker
have been ordered for the driving range. Energy Seal has been hired to
do an evaluation of the roof and the concern of ice damming if we
convert to asphalt shingles. They will also evaluate the current status
of all insulation. They are expanding the restroom at the Maintenance
Building. Parks and Rec are doing a torch light one mile lighted walk
every Friday in February on the course.
Allan's Report: Revenue is currently $37,000 ahead of last year. The
City Manager approved the tournament scheduled for Aug 14-15. IGA
asked us to host a USGA amateur qualifier on July 14. Allan is expecting
50 players. IGA also called back and asked us to host a junior tour event
on June 17 with approximately 100 junior golfers to participate.
Agreeing to host these events should put us in good standing to host
the Idaho Amateur in 2022.
Monthly topic: Michael suggested that we put Cart Path renovation on
the list to submit to LOT. Aspen and Birch courses need ground and
resurfaced while Cedar needs crack sealed and seal coated. While we
do this, he suggested doing the sprinkler system and surrounding area
of the hole to get everything done in one area at a time. The
infrastructure basically needs improvement on the course with the
Master Plan and since Allan projects 2/3 of the people playing the
course are from out of town, the basics of the Master Plan and LOT are
both met.
Old Business: The new rates for 2021 were previously discussed. Still
pursuing if the $1 green fee assessment and $100 member pass
assessment has to be taxed.
New Business: None discussed
Next month topic: Election of officers
Date of next meeting: March 10, 2021 at 4 pm
eeting was adjourned
