Home My Public Portal Aboutr 14-161No. 14 -161 - Date of Adoption AUGUST 7, 20 14 AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR ENGIINEERLN'G SERVICES WITH C➢IE ASSOCIATES — ILYIGP GENERATOR INSTALLATION AT BOROUGH HALL WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized engineering services for the preparation of bid doctunents and bid phase services with regard to the I-IVn IGP generator installation at Borough Hall; and WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineers, CAE Associates, possess the requisite skill and expertise to provide said services; and WHEREAS, CME Associates has submitted a. proposal to provide said engineering services at a total cost not to exceed $3,000.00; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have reviewed said proposal; and WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that fiords are or will be available for said purpose. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough , County of Nliddlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows: That the proposal from CME Associates for engineering services for the preparation of bid documents and bid phase services with regard to the HMGP generator installation at Borough Hall, in a total amount of $3,000.00 billable in accordance with Civni's existing contract with the Borough is hereby approved; 2. That annexed hereto is a copy of said proposal; 3. That this action is approved as an award of a professional services contract pursuant to�N.J.S.A. 40A:11- 5(l)(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair and Open Process as authorized by law. Re: Proposal for Professional Engineering Services for: HMGP Generator Installation at Borough Nall Proposal No. 2093 -023B Dear John: We are pleased to have the opportunity to present our proposal for professional engineering services for the above - referenced project. It is our understanding that the Borough is seeking to install an emergency natural gas backup generator system for the Municipal Building. The improvements will consist of the installation and permanent connection of the generator to ensure the continuous supply of power to facilitate their use as emergency service centers during disasters. it is also our understanding that Cooke Avenue Developers will prepare the technical specifications for the generator, transfer switch and connection to the buildings electrical panel. With this in mind we offer the following scope of services: Preparation of Contract Documents Work in this phase will include preparation of front end bid specifications, site plan and construction details to be used for the installation of the generators. These site improvement specifications will be coordinated with Cooke Avenue Developers to provide a complete set of contract documents and plans to be used for public bid in accordance with the New Jersey Local Public Contract Law. Bid Phase Services Work in this phase will provide the following services to publicly bid the project in accordance with the Local Public Contracts Law: a. Provide Bid Documents to Prospective Bidders as needed b. Answer Prospective Bidder's Request for Information c. Provide Addenda for Clarification of Project Specifications d. Attend Bid Opening e.
