HomeMy Public PortalAboutCHAP 152 Mobile Homes.pdf CHAPTER 152: MOBILE HOMES SECTION 152.01 Definitions 152.02 Use of Mobile Home for Habitation 152.03 Mobile Home Parks 152.01 DEFINITIONS For the purposes of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning. (a) “MOBILE HOME” -Any vehicle, including the equipment sold as part of the vehicle, so constructed as to permit its being used as a conveyance on public streets or highways by either self-propelled or non-self-propelled means, and so designed, constructed or reconstructed, or added to by means of an enclosed addition or room in such a manner as will permit its occupancy as a dwelling for one or more persons, which is both used and occupied as a dwelling having no foundation other than wheels, jacks, skirting, or other temporary supports. (b) “MOBILE HOME PARK” -An area of land on which three or more mobile homes are harbored for the purpose of being occupied either free of charge or for revenue purposes and shall include any building, structure, vehicle, or enclosure used or intended for use as part of the equipment of the mobile home park. (‘72 Code, 34.01) (Ord. 1325-1947) 152.02 USE OF MOBILE HOME FOR HABITATION No person shall use a mobile home or permit a mobile home to be used for human habitation outside a state licensed mobile home park. No person shall erect a tent to be occupied for overnight accommodation, in such mobile home park. (‘72 Code, 34.02) (Ord. 1325-1947) Penalty, see 10.99 152.03 MOBILE HOME PARKS After March 21, 1955, no mobile home park shall be constructed within the city unless it is in a location zoned for business under the provisions of the zoning regulations of the city, and shall have in front a yard which shall extend completely across that portion of the part which faces on a public street or highway. There shall be no obstruction in the yard for a distance of 40 feet from the inside line of the sidewalk or sidewalks abutting the street or streets, or in front of the setback line established for houses houses on the same street or streets on which the park is situated, or as established in adjacent subdivision, whichever is the greater.
