HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-12-2019 (2)THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY of THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 12, 2019 The Board of Public works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, September 12, 2019, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson, Emily Palmer and Matt Evans. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Lieutenant Donnie Benedict; Imani Murphy, Human Resource Director; EMT Chief Ben Simmons; Tracy Bosell, Street Commissioner; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Palmer moved to approve the minutes of August 29, 2019, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Ms. Palmer moved to approve the Claims for Payment for August 30, 2019 in the amount of One Hundred Five Thousand Four Hundred Ten Dollars and ninety nine cents ($105,410.99), supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Ms. Palmer moved to approve the Claims for Payment for September 13, 2019 in the amount of Five Hundred Seventy One Thousand Nine Hundred Eight Dollars and thirty cents ($571,908.30), supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS • HANDICAP SIGN RENEWALS 704 South 11 th Street 620 South 11th Street 1213 North "C" Street 1215 North "C" Street Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • STREET CLOSURES City of Richmond BEP On Tuesday, September 17, 2019 the closure of South 11th Street from the drive to Village Pantry to South "E" Street, (staging area), starting at 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Also the closure of one lane on South "E" Street from the drive to Village Pantry to the alley from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Board of Works Minutes September 12, 2019 This is for the demolition of the structure located at boo South 11th Street. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. SIDEWALK CLOSURE & NOISE ORDIANCE Jus 1 More Bar & Grill LLC. Customer Appreciation Day On Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. the closure of the sidewalk from the door of the business on South "H" Street up to the Alley. They are also requesting a Noise Variance for the band that will be playing in their parking lot. Ms. Palmer moved to approve the sidewalk closure, supported Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Ms. Palmer moved to approve the Noise Variance, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. BID OPENINGS - None BID AWARDS - None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 118-2019 — RICHMOND FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL 1408 An agreement between the City and the Richmond Professional Firefighters, Inc. Local 1408. Both parties have agreed to a three-year contract that also contains some minor language change, formatting, and grammar changes. It will be in effect from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CONTRACT NO. 141-2019 -- STRYKER CORPORATION To provide as a sole source contractor for two Lifepak 15 AED monitor/defibrillators with batteries, carrying cases, and accessories. Also includes two year on --site Procare Prevent Coverage for the annual preventative maintenance and inspections of the equipment for the Richmond Fire Department. Not to exceed $70,119.88 Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 147-2019 — SELKING INTERNATIONAL TRUCKS For the build and purchase of an International Aerial Lift Truck for the Richmond Street Department. In the Amount of $145,253.00 with a possible discount of $1,000.00 if chassis portion is paid within 15 days of being delivered to the body company to complete build. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 149-2019 — FOUR COUNTY CAREER CENTER This is a Field Internship Affiliation Agreement where the Richmond Fire Department will provide an environment for the pre --hospital training experience for basic, advanced, and paramedic EMT ' Board of Works Minutes September 1Z 2019 students. The facilities will allow students and Program Coordinator to provide instruction necessary in learning the techniques specialty of EMTs and Paramedics. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS - None ADDENDUMS - None RESOLUTIONS - None PETITIONS - None MISCELLANEOUS Miss Robinson welcomed Matt Evans as the newest member to the Board.
