ORDINANCE NO. 45-2019
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMITTAL,. ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT
FROM THE INDIANA PUBLIC EMPLOYERS' PLAN
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IQ 3 6-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any
documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other
source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive administration,
_provided that the Common Council: of the: City of Richmond as the legislative body of the
City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with
IC 3 6-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Indiana Public Employers' Plan ("IPEP") has grant funding available through its 2020
Safety Grant Program; and
WEEREAS, The City of Richmond Human Resources Department (through its Health and Safety
Division) desires to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used to procure
various items of safety equipment, which equipment may include, but shall not be limited
to, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), First Aid Kits, AED Batteries, Manhole Gas
Detector, Safety Cones, CPR Training Supplies, SCBA Masks, Security Cameras, and
-Confined Space Entry Equipment and associated training; and -
WHEREAS, A local match in an amount of up to Four Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($4,000.00) is
required and has been authorized to be provided through the Sanitary Safety Supplies funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as
follows:
1. The City of Richmond, Indiana, in accordance with IC 3 6-1-4-10, has submitted or will submit
a grant application to the Indiana Public Employers' Plan ("IPEP") for the 2020 Safety Grant Program.
2. The City of Richmond, by and through its Human Resources Department (through its Health
and Safety Division) and through its Sanitary Department, is authorized to accept said grant funding in an
amount of up to Twenty Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($20,000.00).
3. Said grant funding shall be used to procure various items of safety equipment and associated
training for the City of Richmond, Indiana.

Richmond, Indiana.
