SUBSTANDARD WATER SERVICE REPLACEMENTS
Olney Street
Gilbert Street
Dear Residents and Abutters of Olney Street and Gilbert Street:
The Watertown Department of Public Works and our contractor, Paolini LLC, would like to inform
you that we will be replacing only sub -standard (cement lined and/or cast iron) water services on
your street. Work will begin on the Highland Avenue end and proceed towards Main Street.
Replacements and upgrades will include only the water service pipe from the town water main to the
curb stop (usually in the sidewalk area). The work for each home will require approximately 3-6
hours to complete.
Weather permitting, work will begin on Friday, July 30, 2021.
Based on our records, work is anticipated at the following services:
Olney Street: #61-63, #57-59, #54, #51, #41, #35, #31, #22-24 and #7.
Gilbert Street: #60-62. #54-56. #49. #37. #33. and #20.
If your address is not listed, then our records indicate your water service is copper in the street and
does not require replacement.
The Watertown Police will be informed of the construction and its effects. Typical hours of
construction work are from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
