ORDINANCE NO., 54-2019
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT
FROM THE INDIANA OFFICE OF TOURISM DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4--10, a municipality may
execute any documents necessary to receive money from the state or
federal government or any other source, and said documents are prepared
and executed by the City executive administration, provided ' that the
Common Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the
City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received
in accordance with IC 3 6-4-6-1 S; and
WHEREAS, The Indiana Office of Tourism Development ("IOTD") has grant funding
available through its Fiscal Year 2020 Destination Development Grant
Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Department of Infrastructure and Development
desires to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used to
develop and implement a Wayfnding Signage Plan and Public Art Plan;
and
WHEREAS, A fifty percent (50%) local match in an amount of up to One Hundred
Fifty Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($150,000.00) is required and has
been approved in the LIT Fund Wayfinding Line Item in the 2020 budget.
NOW,, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond, Indiana, in accordance with IC 3 6-1-4-10, has
submitted or will submit a grant application to the Indiana Office of Tourism
Development ("IOTD") for the Fiscal Year 2020 Destination Development Grant
Program.
2. The City of Richmond, by and through its Department of Infrastructure and
Development is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount of up to One
Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($150,000.00).

3 . Said grant funding shall be used to fund the development and implementation
of a wayfimding Signage Plan and Public Art Plan for the City of Richmo d, Indiana.
