A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ADOPTING
THE PLANS, CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND WORKING DETAILS FOR THE NEW
CITY HALL AND COUNCIL CHAMBERS BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT,
PROJECT NO. 4011.67.905; AND AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
WORKS ENGINERING STAFF TO SOLICIT BIDS FROM THE APPROVED LIST OF
PREQUALIFIED CONTRACTORS
WHEREAS, the New City Hall and Council Chambers Construction Project is
listed in the Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Year 2012 -2013; and
WHEREAS, the work encompasses the Construction of a 3 story, 25,500 S.F.
metal frame City Hall building and a 3,500 S.F. Council Chambers, site improvements,
parking lots, landscaping and hardscape, safety lighting, irrigation system, concrete
construction and asphalt pavement; and
WHEREAS, the estimated construction cost for said project is $9,600,000; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works of the City of Lynwood has
determined that said project is in accordance with the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA) and is categorically exempt pursuant to Section 15301 (C) of the
CEQA guidelines pertaining to statutory exemptions; and
WHEREAS, the project is ready to be advertised for the solicitation of bids.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the New City Hall and Council Chambers Construction Project,
Project No. 4011.67.905 is in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA) and exempt pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15301.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood adopts the Plans,
Specifications and Working Details for the New City Hall and Council Chambers
Construction Project, Project No. 4011.67.905.
Section 3. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the
solicitation of bids for said project from the approved list of pre - qualified contractors
pursuant to the Resolution approved concurrently herewith.
Section 4. This resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 21 day of August 2012.
